The Laverda Lives 12/11/2011
Changed the oil. Cleaned and set the points. New plugs. Set the valve clearances. Figured out the wiring. took the carbs apart and gave those a cleaning. Battery and a little gas and it came to life. No idea how long this one has sat idle. Its always a great feeling to start something up for the first time. I just wish it wasn't December in Wisconsin. I want to get this thing ready for the road. Laverda SF2 - I almost cried.... 12/07/2011
The first time I saw this Laverda SF2 I wasn't sure what to think. Who would have someone paint an Italian beauty in such a way? Anyway, the short term goal is to see if its a runner. It may be up for sale after that. Not sure what to do about the paint. I was thinking about seeing if some paint stripper will lift the top layer to find the original paint underneath. I have my doubts though. Then again, I'm not sure I have the heart to try. One Norton out, another one in 11/08/2011
'75 Commando MK3 Exhaust threads repaired, new top end gaskets, freshened up the head, carbs cleaned, a few parts here an there and its a runner. I believe this is a '69 Commando S that has been modified a bit. It's been sitting outside since 1990. Engine is stuck solid. I have the go ahead to explore the situation and see how bad the damage is. This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar. Words to ride by 11/04/2011

If he still obstacles your passage, tootel him with vigor and express by word of mouth, warning Hi, Hi. 3. Beware of the wandering horse that he shall not take fright as you pass him. Do not explode the exhaust box at him. Go soothingly by. 4. Give big space to the festive dog that makes sport in roadway. Avoid entanglement of dog with wheel spokes. 5. Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon! Press the brake foot as you roll around the corners, and save the collapse and tie up. More dangerous to watch than to race 11/04/2011
Great on-board footage of the same course. Road Trip 09/20/2011
Marcus form Florida stopped in today for a front tire, his 7500 km service and a few other additions to his already well outfitted 2011 Ural. He left about a month ago and from here he was headed up to Canada, west to the coast, South into Mexico and probably home after that. He updated me tonight with the picture below when from his campsite. Lucky him...... The Shop has been Heist\'d 09/15/2011
