This is my own personal rig that I I just finished putting together. Tracked down the road quite well first time out. Steers better than I thought it would. My last rig had a leading link front end and I thought that I was really going to miss that.

Still needs some work if I decide not to go with the rat bike look.

Tickle the Amal carbs and give the button a push and she fires right up into a nice loping idle. New tires. Seller says the gear box was rebuilt by Zydeco. I'll be getting into this one further to see what's up with it and get it in reliable running shape. Maybe do a alternator kit on it while I'm at it even though the generator appears to be working.

Set the valve clearances. Figured out the wiring. took the carbs apart and gave those a cleaning. Battery and a little gas and it came to life.  No idea how long this one has sat idle. Its always a great feeling to start something up for the first time.

I just wish it wasn't December in Wisconsin. I want to get this thing ready for the road.

Who would have someone paint an Italian beauty in such a way?  Anyway, the short term goal is to see if its a runner. It may be up for sale after that. Not sure what to do about the paint. I was thinking about seeing if some paint stripper will lift the top layer to find the original paint underneath. I have my doubts though. Then again, I'm not sure I have the heart to try.

Exhaust threads repaired, new top end gaskets, freshened up the head, carbs cleaned, a few parts here an there and its a runner.

I believe this is a '69 Commando S that has been modified a bit. It's been sitting outside since 1990. Engine is stuck solid. I have the go ahead to explore the situation and see how bad the damage is.
